Mission Statement: To help members gain experience, build lasting friends and connections, and build their reels bi-monthly in a real set environment.

Club Rules:

We film every other week in LA, so this group probably won't be particularly useful to you if you are in a different state. Other than that, here are the club rules before we begin:

1. Please fill out all the forms here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LAFRC/files/ - You will ONLY be considered for cast and crew roles if you have filled out ALL relevant forms and emailed it to myrihouli@gmail.com (suggested: use is pdfescape because it's a no download free site to edit PDFs that allows you to edit texts and you can take a picture or use paint for your signature then insert the signature as an image onto the PDF).

2. As anticipated, about 90% of us are primarily actors. That means to be a part of this group, you MUST be willing to rotate to do non acting work. If you are only willing to do acting work, this group is not for you. I suggest doing a workshop, where you can pay money to solely do acting. Honestly, it shouldn't feel like work though since it's good to get some experience in all aspects of production and to become a jack of all trades in the industry (shoestring budgets are more likely to hire you for example as an actor that can also do other stuff!)

3. Non actors get priority in whatever their field of experience is. (Editor, director of photography, producer, pa, etc). The weeks we have them: awesome! But we can't depend on having them. Actors will fill in all other production roles as needed. If you (also) specialize in non acting roles, please inbox the VP on Facebook Eric Hinwood, and we'll get you guys on a chain so we can work you in as much as you are willing.

4. Since there are so many of us; it'll take awhile getting everyone a lead role, so here's the breakdown!

Two non director crew rotations = Lead role
One non director crew rotation = Principal role
One non director crew rotation = Director
Free = Supporting role

Those that break this rule by not crewing after receiving a cast position or directing, will be dropped from the club and not allowed back.

5. Roles will not be talent based. The point of the group is for everyone to work on their skill set regardless of experience or talent level; that way everyone can get feedback from each other and improve, improve, improve! Therefore writers will be asked to write realistic (no outer space, expensive car chase scenes, etc), premise neutral (NO politics, religion, etc), produceable stories that are 5-7 pages (not including the title page - HARD CUT OFF AT 8 PAGES INCLUDING TITLE) to be considered for production at our meetings. The script must be written to accommodate as many actors as possible without jeopardizing the integrity of the script (think at least 7). If you have a 2-3 person short script; feel free to advertise it in the group, but it will not be produced by the club since we are trying to improve as many people as possible's reels per meeting.

6. Those who have crewed previously and are in the positive for points will be offered roles that could potentially match them before they are released to the general club.

7. The group will start out with weekly and bi-monthly filming meetings. Eventually, the meetings will alternate between general club and features/series meetings. Your participation level is entirely up to you! For example: you could sign up for a principal role, volunteer as the camera guy, then volunteer your house for a meeting/shoot, and never come back! Or you can come weekly. However much you want to give and take from the group is up to you.

8. IMPORTANT: Treat your roles like a real job. There is only a grace period if you let us know over 5 days before the shoot. If something lucrative pops up more last minute than 120 hours before, you'll have to make a choice. If you let us know 2-5 days before the shoot date, you will just be deducted -1 points. Under 48 hours also comes with a warning, and you only get one warning, if you forgo a cast or crew position after the one warning, you will be permanently dropped from the club. If you let us know under 48 hours you will get -1 points (same as if you were a director or principal) and if you cannot make it day of you will get -2 points (same as if you played a lead). ONLY exceptions to not getting a warning/drop are extenuating circumstances such as death/hospitalization of self or/loved ones.

9. You must sign the Non Disclosure Agreement, Talent Release Form, and Director and Crew RIghts form to be able to participate. If you submit a script, you must sign a Submission Release form (it is non-exclusive, so you are free to re-produce you just give full rights to the club as well).
